I'm still here... and so is she.

No, my lack of posting has not been because of a certain little girl's arrival... It's just been a busy last few weeks. Rocky and I went with the high school youth group to the Alive Music Festival in Ohio for 5 days, then we were involved in VBS at our church, and we held our first-ever garage sale! Needless to say, I'm pretty tired. But July is a new month, and we [purposely] did not plan much of anything for this month.

I'm so ready to have this girl and move on. My due date is 4 weeks away (July 29), but I went a week over with Abby... My goal this week is to pull out all of the newborn and 0-3 clothes and get them washed and organized (and figure out how to fit both toddler and newborn clothes and stuff in the same room...) and maybe get our bags packed. After that... bring it on! :)

Want to know what I'm looking forward to the most about being done with this pregnancy? Other than having a brand new, soft little girl to hold??
  • Not sweating all the time. I'm one who doesn't like summer anyway, but the last two weeks I just can't seem to stop sweating... it's pretty gross.
  • Getting my back back to normal. I've had issues off and on with my deep lower back for years, but this pregnancy seems to have really aggravated it. The last few months it's only bothered me if I've done something like walking or gardening without stretching first. Now that things have softened up and loosened up even more, every day is pretty painful.
  • Being able to lay on my stomach again!!
  • Taking ibuprofen. Tylenol works for headaches, but for soreness and muscle pain (like my back!), nothing beats ibuprofen.
I have my next checkup this afternoon (36 weeks), and then I'm at weekly appointments until the little one is here!

Do you have a pregnancy story where your first was late and your second was early?? I'd love to hear about it... ;-)

  1. Nope...no pregnancy stories about #2 arriving early but I do seriously sympathize with you about wanting some ibuprofen...It's so hard to accept the fact that something so wonderful could possibly be bad for baby...

    1. And I remember getting a bottle of 800 mg ibuprofen pills to take home from the hospital after Abby was born. Mmmm... ;)

  2. I definitely feel for you. Thankfully, I was not very far along in the summer with my twins... not that it mattered when by the end of March you could show movies on my belly. LOL. I was miserable. Hope things go smoothly and quickly in the time you have left.

    1. I get the occasional "you're sure there's only one in there?!" comment -- I carry fully out front, but I've seen women carrying twins and I'm definitely not as big as that. Close though. ;)

  3. First--thanks so much for following me! I really appreciate it! Second--You do not want to hear my baby stories. But I will tell you anyway. My son was twenty days late and transverse. So after almost 24 hours in labor (induced), he was a C. He is now a grown-up. Sort of. My daughter was a scheduled C (if she was not on time--May Day) whom the doctor assured me would be only 7 pounds (according to the length of her femur). Both kids were 8 and a half pounds. At the time, I weighed 110. So these were big honkin' babies--one long and skinny, one short and round. Both wonderful! Good luck, and keep us posted. (Be warned...I have often threatened to steal babies, although I give them back when they start to squeak.)

    1. Thanks for your story. :) My first daughter (8 days late) was 9 lbs 2 oz, but a pretty easy labor & delivery overall. My doctors won't even talk about inducing until at least a week overdue. We'll see how things go!!

  4. I feel your discomfort on this one. Of course,it is worth the wait; but I remember being very anxious just to get it over. Enjoy the moments and have a wonderfu relaxing 4th of July.
    Hugs!
